Salcedo is a small town located in the heart of the Cotopaxi province, Ecuador. It is famous for its delicious and creamy fruit ice cream known as "helados de Salcedo". Ice cream is a traditional dessert in this region and can only be found locally. Every Sunday, Salcedo hosts a local market that offers traditional products such as ponchos, hats, and handmade items. Some of the attractions of Salcedo are the central park, it is an important city in agricultural and livestock production and popular for the preparation of fruit and pinol ice creams, in its Historic Center the Central Park is located, which has a Pile of Bronze and on one of its sides you can see the Main Church that highlights its twin towers and the Clock Tower bordered by an atrium in addition to the Municipal Palace.

Ulivi Viewpoint

The viewpoint has a route for hiking and biking, promoted by peasants and indigenous people from the La Delicia, Pataín and Uliví neighborhoods, located on the provincial border between Tungurahua and Cotopaxi. From the so-called Uliví viewpoint you can see the wide pastures, farms and bareque homes with zinc roofs of the Panzaleo parish, located 3 kilometers from the center of the city. The tourist will also be able to observe the Cutuchí and Yanayacu rivers, the valleys, the Tungurahua volcano, the mountains of the Llanganates National Park, among other attractions. Yambo Lagoon

It is called "Enchanted Lagoon" perhaps because of its legends; it has underground springs in the central part from where its waters are born; It can be seen that the lagoon has grown spectacularly due to the new irrigation that has been implemented in the surrounding areas. The banks of the Lagoon show the mirror of water of a green color that contrasts with the bluish horizon and a mountainous region that enriches the landscape and the conditions of the place. Among the activities you can do are boat rides, hiking, horseback riding, camping, observation, photography, among others. This sector enjoys a great historical richness because it was a settlement of the Paeces, a branch of the Panzaleos and on the Tamboloma hill there are still remains of pre-Inca pottery. Yambo comes from the red word Yamboc, which means steaming lagoon, because in ancient times it suffered a great evaporation, explains the historian Oswaldo Navas. Location It is located 7 kilometers from the cantonal capital, in the Panzaleo parish; which occupies the southern region of the canton. From the cantonal capital through the Panamericana Sur it is 15 minutes; and towards the interior it is half an hour. Among the activities that visitors can do are: hike ride camping observation photography, among others. Yambo currently has a linear park and a viewpoint, which was executed by the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works. Tarabita Taita Yambo It is a new attraction found in the area. It has a capacity for 10 people, the tarabita is 850 meters long and 150 meters high, it is one of the longest in Ecuador, it travels at an approximate speed of 15 kilometers per hour. The line starts from the Lineal Park, located on the edge of the E35 road, crosses the Yambo lagoon and reaches the ecological walk.
